David Cronenberg's 'A Harmful Method' Was Said to be for Jennifer Aniston
In David Cronenberg's 'A Harmful Method,' Keira Knightly plays Sabina Spielrein, a mental patient-switched-psychoanalyst, who were built with a rumored partnership with Dr. Carl Jung (Michael Fassbender). However, the role was initially intended for another person: Jennifer Aniston. Within an interview with indieWIRE, Cronenberg says the very first version from the film would star the 'Larry Crowne' actress as Spielrein. 'Method' is dependant on the 2002 play 'The Speaking Cure,' by Christopher Hampton. However, prior to the play, Hampton wrote a script for Roberts 17 years earlier known as 'Sabina.' Obviously, that project never found fruition. You should check out the entire interview, where Cronenberg continues to go over his approaching movie, along with the relationship between Jung and Sigmund Freud, over on indieWIRE. 'A Harmful Method' opens in limited release today. [via Movieline and indieWIRE] [Photo: Getty Images] Follow Moviefone on Twitter Like Moviefone on Facebook
